MATI Endorses Maldives Wellness Experience and Travel Symposium 2026

The Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) has endorsed the Maldives Wellness Experience and Travel Media Symposium (an Island Hotel Conference), scheduled for May 2026.

Established by the pioneers of the Maldives tourism industry, MATI is the country’s leading agency representing hoteliers and tourism entrepreneurs. The organisation plays a pivotal role in ensuring the necessary infrastructure and services are in place for a successful tourism industry to flourish. The organisation’s focus areas include Sustainable Tourism Development, Advocacy, Human Capital Development, Preservation and Promotion of Culture and Heritage and Community Engagement.

Currently MATI has over 180 members from various international and domestic tourist establishments that include hotel and resort owners, operators and management companies,, contractors, consultants, supplies and various other service providers to the Maldives tourism industry.

Organised by Island Healers (an imprint of Soft Atoll Maldives), the Maldives Wellness Experience and Travel Symposium 2026 is a two day event aiming to showcase the story of a destination from local, indigenous and international perspectives. The event will bring together leaders in the fields of destination marketing, hoteliers, local and international practitioners in the wellness economy, entrepreneurs and media. It will be an ideal venue for retreat planners and leaders to discuss new trends and insights in the global and international wellness and travel industries.

Scheduled for 26, 27th May 2026, the event will see a full day conference followed by a tour with stop overs and excursions for indigenous and local cultural experiences. There will be workshops and experience sessions with practitioners of the healing arts and ‘elders’ in the wellness economy sharing their experiences.

You can book the wellness experience sessions and guided excursions – of which some will be complimentary and some paid with limited slots – at the time of registration for the event.
